I am a qualified world-class level instructor with a Master of Music and Bachelor degree both in percussion performance, as well as over a decade of experience with students of all levels. Please check my biography for further information.

IN-PERSON ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS

THE STUDIO by Adam Tan is a dedicated studio space for percussionists who want to push themselves, no matter what level they're at. THE STUDIO is located in Subiaco, which is just 5 min from Perth CBD in Australia. There is free parking and easy public transport access.

 

I am a marimba soloist primarily, but am also able to teach all areas of classical percussion. Main specialty areas of interest include:

• Solo marimba technique (5.0 octave Marimba One available on-site)

• Specialist marimba performance skills for world-class level competition, audition and recital purposes

• Stick and rudimental technique for snare drum and other instruments

• ATAR, AMEB, TCL as well as entry auditions for schools and ensembles

• Beginner to intermediate drum set performance

Students of mine all receive ample support to their musical journey as part of their lessons:

• Option to loan gear with one of the world's largest mallet collections

• Option to loan and purchase sheet music

• Free assistance with recordings and video work with on-site recording equipment available

• Performance opportunities at professional concerts in venues such as the UWA Conservatorium of Music and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts through my organisation Marimbafest Australia
